A Taste of Heaven in the Heart of Austin!

I just had the most incredible dining experience at Whip My Soul, hands down the best soul food in Austin, Texas! From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in for a treat. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, coupled with the mouthwatering aromas wafting from the kitchen, set the tone for an unforgettable meal.

The service was top-notch - friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff happy to guide me through the impressive menu. And the food? Absolutely divine! I ordered the catfish plate & the fried chicken and waffles, and let me tell you, it was love at first bite. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and full of flavor, paired perfectly with a fluffy, golden-brown waffle.

The sides were equally impressive - creamy mac and cheese, tender collard greens, and the most scrumptious candied yams I've ever had. Each bite was a masterclass in soul food perfection.

Whip My Soul has earned a loyal customer in me. If you're craving authentic, delicious soul food in Austin, look no further! Get ready to taste the real deal.

My absolute favorite is that they have a variety of kool-aid flavors ON DRAFT!!!

15/10 Will definitely visit this spot time and time again! For sure one of my new favorites ! Amazing home style cooking. I recently moved to Austin from Georgia and had missed some of the great bites I had at Whip My Soul. I cannot recommend this place enough! The fried fish and tenders are so crispy and moist. The mac and cheese is very cheesy and the cornbread is moist. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There was no wait when we arrived around 6:30pm on a Wednesday but by 7pm there was a short line that still moved fairly quickly. Our food came out quick and hot. Can't wait to come on the weekend so I can try their fried cabbage!

A friend brought me here while I'm in town visiting and it's genuinely some of the best soul food I've ever had! So amazing, and the cheezy mac in particular was probably the best I've had from anywhere. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in Austin! Also everyone working there was super nice and helpful. Overall a wonderful experience!

Update- I went back a second time and they did not disappoint! This time around I got chicken wings, mac n cheese, yams and cornbread. The Mac was so cheesy and the yams were so delicious. The wings were seasoned well and a nice size. The atmosphere was very chill and they have a lot of drink options which was nice. The staff were friendly and I got my food in a timely manner. I’ll definitely go back a third time to try something else!

Hands down the best soul food I’ve had in Austin! There are so many options, but I went with a piece of fish, collard greens, gizzards and cornbread. The cornbread just melted in my mouth! The greens were delicious! That fish was so good that I didn’t even need hot or tartar sauce. Not many people like gizzards but they were so dang good and cooked to perfection! I will definitely go back to try more items!

The staff was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. This place truly embodies soul food at its finest. Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious, heartwarming food.
