La comida es muy rica, aunqué me parece un poco elevado el precio vale la pe na definitivamente. Sólo los postres no se sienten frescos, así que me quedaria sólo con los alimentos.
Las porciones son pequeñas, pero de nuevo, muy sabrosas.

While staying in Montreal we decided for try Satu Lagi for dinner. First off, our server Zachery was very attentive and gave us a full run down off the menu and suggested some apps and mains.

My partner is celiac and majority of the options on the menu were fully gluten free. They also use separate fryers and make sure they can accommodate the best they can!

For our apps we got Brussels sprouts, the fried chicken, fried mushrooms and chicken skewers . For our mains we got veggies and rice which were amazing. It was little sweet for my liking but over all good.

If you’re in Montreal and have a gluten allergy Satu Lagi if definitely worth trying out. Good for a date night but also for lunch.

We didn’t get any drinks but the bar seating and bar look fully stocked and the drinks looked great!

Will definitely recommend this to friends who visit Montreal and need a dinner/lunch spot!

The decor is very nice. I liked the food, but after a while, the coconut milk flavor and the chili became kind of repetitive. We shared 10 of their dishes between 4 people, and each paid around 54 dollars before tax and tip, which i found very affordable. The soup is very rich and has good flavor, It was our favorite to share.

Je suis tombé sur ce restaurant un peu par hasard en passant devant et comme c'est une cuisine que je ne connais pas, j'ai décidé de l'essayer.

Comme c'est notre 1ere fois, le serveur nous explique que c'est un peu comme des tapas, le but étant de commander plusieurs plat et de les partager. Le nom des plats est écrit en indonésien (je suppose) et ne dira rien au commun des mortels que nous sommes, sauf si vous êtes familier avec cette partie du globe.

Nous avons donc commandé plusieurs plats en nous basant sur le description sous leurs noms exotiques, ne me demandez pas de les citer car je ne les ai absolument pas retenu ! Mais le choix a été difficile tant la composition avait l'air savoureuse. À noter que la majorité des plats sont tout de même assez épicé (je mange peu épicé) et ça ne plaira peut être pas à tout le monde.

Mentions spéciales pour les desserts, très gouteux!

We went there for dinner. For the atmosphere and service, it's a bit expensive. The portions are ridiculously small. Especially the Sambhal, 4 tiny portions of sauces which lacked flavour and were not spicy at all. Chicken satay was good. All you can taste is the coconut milk in the beef rendang. It was a bit too much. The rice was very dry and crunchy. There was hardly any salt. At times it was confusing as what to add or mix to get it right. Being a big fan of Malaysian and Indonesian food, I was very disappointed. Also, the most popular dishes were not on the menu.

Indonesian here! 🙋🏻‍♀️ the food is authentic, taste just like home with a fancier touch. Love the sambal assortment, it's a good medium for people to try the variety of Indonesian spices. Overall 10/10 would definitely go again for special occasions!

Born in the archipelago, I was tempted to try something comforting from home. However, though I was upset that it didn't taste the same and was honestly very disappointed - and the waiter told me if I told them I was born there, they could modify it such that it becomes more relatable (which I did, so I'm confused). Wanted something light so ended up getting something easy for them to make (that was not too slow).

I packed them back home to my aprtment to give it a second go with the Montreal palate in mind.

Fried chicken tasted regular - for 2 pieces it did not justify the price especially since you could get better ones at other Western stores. The honey sauce was delicious. The geprek was not done properly...chicken was cold and unsalted.

With an open mind, I think the salted egg tahu telur was alright. Good blend of flavour - and it was refreshing to have a taste of tofu done the SEA way.

For these I paid 30+ CAD - super overpriced for some street food. I would come again for other dishes just to be curious.

Also, was upset that I was not informed that they had a specialty laksa on the front page - which I only realised after I was packing the excess home. Wished the waiter could've done so in the beginning instead of showing me the small dishes.

- would be better if I had a better seat but my fault since it was reservation only
- would be nice if they had indo-malay music
- best if the waiter could have told me their laksa on first page
- would come again just to give it another chance as I saw the other reviews with dishes i would eat but was not aware it was on the menu

Great service and lovely terrace and interior design. However the food, for the brunch menu, was slightly uninspiring. Flavours were good, however some items were a miss. The Kaya Toast and eggs was just a piece of toast with a sweet spread and a poached egg. I wouldn't recommend. Stays were definitely a hit.
