Loved the elevated Filipino food concept, and enjoyed what we got. Some dishes were a bit salty like the banana leaf bass. Atmosphere feels a bit sterile. Loved the cocktails! Still enjoyed trying this place out!

Blew me away!
The service - 12 / 10.
The drinks - 12 / 10.
Ambiance - 12 / 10.
The food - some of the most creative I've ever seen, truly delicious - I'm usually not a dessert person, but even those had me doing a happy dance.

The chef came out to introduce himself and he is a lovely human, very personable and clearly takes great pride and care in everything he does. Everyone in our group was impressed.

Finally! Have been waiting for someone to create a high-end Filipino Fusion cuisine. Sampa did not disappoint at all. We loved it!

The Hamachi, Pancit with Duck, Crab Fried Rice, Seabass with curry, ube cheesecake, old fashion and ube sour were amazing. The flavors were just right. Not bland but not overwhelming.

We met Jen (one of the co-owners) and she was so nice and kind. Highly recommend and will definitely come back.

We tried almost everything on the menu. Elevated Filipino dishes, means elevated prices as well ?
What stood out for me were the Kilawin, Fried rice and Kare-kare tamales.
Service was okay. Our male server looked like he wasn't happy to be there. ‍♀️
I always meet up with my friend every time I'm in L.A. and we always try different restaurants.
This time the company outdid the food itself. (7.17.24)

We came here on Mothers Day and enjoyed a perfect brunch. The cocktails were creative and delicious, the food was amazing, the ambience is warm and inviting, and the staff was fantastic. Everyone was genuinely passionate about the food and took the time to explain the chef’s vision for the menu. Will definitely be back!

I had an amazing dinner at Sampa, a Filipino spot in the Arts District that's been getting rave reviews. I've been eager to try it out, and I'm so glad I finally did with a few fellow PR friends here in LA who also share Filipino heritage.

The menu? It's way more elevated than your usual Filipino place—we had kare kare tamales (braised oxtail, peanut veloute, bagoong dust),   lamb shank kaldereta, crab fried rice (crab fat butter, garlic crab), and crispy duck pancit (8oz duck breast, garlic pancit). And the cocktails? Wow. I tried an Ube Sour, but instead of gin, I asked the bartender to whip it up with whiskey. They were happy to oblige, and this Ube Whiskey Sour was next-level masarap.

Shoutout to Chef Josh for stopping by our table to welcome us. That was such a nice, unexpected touch. Congrats on the restaurant's success—I'll definitely be back!

Thank you, po!

Went here for dinner as party of 6. We ordered entire menu. My favorites were crab fat fried rice, octopus adobo and crispy pasta. I have never had such a tender octopus.
Most others loved coco shoots too. All of us were perfectly full after sharing dishes.

The ambiance is very relaxing, chill. There were several tables with 6-8 parties and it didn’t feel loud or busy.
Chef greeted each table which added a special touch.
Highly recommend!
Oh, and lunch menu has their famous chicken wings which are sadly not on dinner menu.

There is ground parking lot across the street with self-service machine, or street parking if any

CHECK YOUR BILL BEFORE YOU PAY!
Our experience at Sampa was infuriating and felt like a complete rip-off. We were only a party of four, yet they slapped an 18% service fee on the bill without saying a word. The server then brought the payment machine and had the nerve to ask us to add an additional tip, starting at 20%, on top of that! We only realized afterward that we’d been double-charged. When we pointed it out, the server showed zero accountability, didn’t apologize, and called the manager, who acted like they were doing us a favor by taking off the extra tip. They told us, “If you don’t want to pay the tip, just sign the receipt.” Unbelievable. This kind of shady, sneaky billing is unacceptable. We expect honesty and transparency, not a bill padded with hidden charges. We left feeling scammed and will not be returning.
