First-time visit. Good home style cooking at a decent price. Huge menu plus daily specials. Enjoyed the spicy Pop’s cheese dip, and I felt the desserts were especially good and well-priced. Service could’ve been friendlier, and ambience was that of a country antique mall/hobby lobby/church.

Walking into Pop's Comfort Kitchen, you're immediately greeted by a great environment and a good selection of music that sets a welcoming tone. The service here doesn't disappoint either; it was prompt and attentive. A special shout-out to Denise, who made sure my dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.

For my meal, I opted for the Country Fried Steak with Brown Gravy, accompanied by Pinto Beans, Macaroni Cheese, and a cup of coffee. The steak itself was reminiscent of a Steak Milanesa in thickness, but the breading was a bit overwhelming. While the pinto beans and macaroni cheese were satisfactory, they could benefit from a boost in flavor to match the comfort food vibe of the place. The brown gravy, on the other hand, was a delightful addition, complementing the Country Fried Stake perfectly. The coffee was a standout—rich, robust, and exactly what you need to round off a hearty meal.

When it comes to value, Pop's Comfort Kitchen hits the mark. The price was right for the quality and quantity of food served. Placed an online order to go with a scheduled pickup time. There were plenty of employees at the front of the restaurant. However, only 1 of them was able to help the customers with online orders, and she was busy answering the phone multiple times in a row. Once she was able to assist the group of us waiting, she packaged our order. I was informed by the doordash driver, who was also waiting for an order, that the employees were not the usual staff and therefore that is why it took longer than normal.

The chicken tender meal, along with the side dishes, was very good. We ordered mac & cheese and crispy cabbage to go with it. The shrimp & grits were flavorful yet way too salty.

I was referred to this restaurant for the food. I did an to go order, paid and asked if we could last minute just sit inside at a table to finish our food since I had small kids that didn’t want to wait!! I was told to hold on she was gonna check to see where she could sit me and left me up at the door for 10 minutes!! Keep in mind they weren’t even busy!!! Customer service sucks!!! I will never ever again give my money to this place!!! Ever!!!!! First and last time!!! They act like they don’t like black people!!!
Oh by the way I posted the hard not steamed broccoli they gave us!! Just terrible

I waited 40 minutes for my order. I was there before the majority of the customers waiting, but I got my food after everyone else had gotten their's and left. I'm not going to say that it's because I'm young and black and dressed in all black. I'm just not going to say that. 9/25/24 within the 6pm hour. No apology , even though the manager was standing there talking to some friends of hers that were sitting at a table for at least 30 minutes. She was just a few feet in front of me, witnessing the entire thing. Just not bothered. Sad, the whole thing was sad. No supervision.

Pepper Jack Bacon Burger and the Chicken Salad were excellent. Topped off with some Bread Pudding. Came back two weeks later for catfish and Pig Lickin Cake. See pics.

2 years later and I’m a regular. Comfort Food. Great deserts. Oversize portions on a lot of the selections. Their idea of a ‘cup’ of soup is huge, the shrimp tacos will fill up a fat gut, and BLT with a ridiculous among of bacon.

Go up
