We had high expectations since all the reviews we’d read had been very positive. We were not disappointed. The apple salad was indeed huge and delicious and the tavern style pizza was perfect. Super thin and crispy and the sausage was glorious, not greasy at all and full of fennel seed flavor. Josh(one of the owners)took our order and chatted with us. He was extremely welcoming and kind. Even brought us glasses for the bottle of wine we brought with us. We also tried the Superman ice cream, which I hadn’t heard of before, that too is made in house and was delicious. There are 3 booths that fit 4 for seating and also just enough room for ordering at the counter and for people waiting for takeout and delivery orders. We went on Friday and were able to grab a table when we arrived around 5:30. Within 30-45 minutes, the other tables were occupied as well. We dined in since we wanted to try the pizza super fresh and hot. Wonderful experience and We’re looking forward to going again. Don’t miss out on this amazing pizza.

Came in from Detroit to see our kids, and saw an Instagram review on Pizza Matta before we left for Chicago. Ordered 2 tavern style pizzas, which both were perfect; thin, crispy, with the perfect amount of toppings. We had the presto sauce on both, which we highly suggest. We also tried the Superman ice cream, can’t go wrong. Not sure why the Google rating is 4.3, makes no sense…this place much better than the rating!

I really enjoy the pizza here. The crust is the perfect level of crispy, the cheese is flavorful. Every time I get a slice here I eat the whole thing and enjoy every single bite. Don't really understand some of the bad reviews, $4 for a slice of really good pizza is a GREAT deal.

You can find other places that might give you bigger slices but they'll cost more and they won't be as consistent as Pizza Matta.

There's not much going on in the actual restaurant but the service is great and it's a quiet place where you can easily sit down and eat a quick slice.

I highly recommend you stop in and try this pizza.

Beautiful area. The workers are nice and the pizza is amazing. Best pizza I’ve had so far. Salad was amazing and tasted delicious. This restaurant is a 5 star.

Delicious pizza dough. I bought cheese pizza. Overall tasty but a little salty. Also tried the wings. They didn't excite me. I recommend the pizza is delicious. Overall an atmospheric place

Really good pizza. Topping prices are somewhat high but you get what you pay for; they certainly load it up for you.

Nice little local place. The pizza itself is pretty average they have the basic toppings but $6 and something for a slice of pizza feels like a hard sell in all honesty

Great place for pizza! Got the tavern style- not my usual- crust was extreme tasty! Cheese blend was great! I will be back- want to try the salads but not hungry enough this trip.
