Spectacular meal. Flavors won’t soon be forgotten. Friendly service with original flavors. Highly recommend. Free tokens with meal made my night. Thai Cesar might be the most interesting Cesar in existence and the Duck Leg with bubble waffle was insane.

Nice atmosphere. Came excited and over optimistic. Off the bat, service was lacking, bouncer was a total tool, and one of the bus boy was high out of his mind.
The food was too weird for the sake of being weird it seemed. A mix of flavors that, imo, just did not pair well.
Started with their bread. The bread itself was aight. The butter had no taste other than being spicy. Not sure how this was a top recommendation.
Next we had the only dish we liked, the octopus. It was not recommended by our server. But everything was good and well cooked with a unique blend of flavors that worked (the exception).
The duck in the triple duck was excellently cooked, but the sides were trash: mint leaves, dill, tangerin, pickled veggies, green waffle.. no two ingredients in this plate worked.
The ice cream desert was kinda weird but could finish most of it. The cake/tart was good.
No mixed drinks seemed like a miss given the atmosphere.

If you do not like trying new things do not come here! This place is highly experimental with their dishes. The chefs need to reinvent the entire menu as it is catastrophic.

The mash of ingredients and flavours are not it. I would not recommend. However if you are coming here stay away from the following dishes i tried:

Starting with the Caesar, it was generally mid at best. The lemongrass was overpowering and the choice of greens was too bitter. I Would give it a solid 3/10 just because it looked appealing.

The yellow curry bucatini was terrible and tasted like Indian curry mixed with pasta, popcorn and a half cut piece of grilled corn - this genuinely seems like a button mash of ingredients on CHATGPT this was actually the most terrible combination of fine dining food I’ve ever tried, and again, was definitely not worth it. This plate I would give 1/10.

The tagliatelle chicken gizzard special was definitely not my first choice - but it was the only choice i figured I wouldn’t hate because I like the pasta (besides the octopus burrata which they didn’t have). There is an extremely gamey taste to this dish that they haven’t manage to prepare well as it is not masked well and it tastes like iron similar to cow heart or liver. It wasn’t prepared well either the taste of it was extremely overpowering and made the entire red sauce taste like it despite no teaching the gizzard. Then they put blueberry salsa which was way out of touch with the flavours of the dish. The slight spiciness and parmigiano made it bareable but I could not give this more than a generous 3/10.

They have a nice list of beers and drinks and if this was a place you chose for drinking and playing games I would recommend but not for dinner.

I’ve always loved Button Mash. I’ve spent countless hours here, either playing solo or with friends, dining, and enjoying their impressive selection of ciders. They offer a long list of delicious options, which I always appreciate.

However, tonight was the first time I experienced something entirely unexpected—a waitress who was completely unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude. I thought I had lost tokens for the second time on one of the newer pinball machines. When I approached her for help, she responded with, “Haven’t you already asked about this a few minutes ago?” I was taken aback by her tone and looked at her, confused, wondering if she was joking. I politely replied, “I’m sorry, what?” hoping she would realize how inappropriate her comment was. Instead, she repeated it. Her attitude was outright disrespectful.

After she returned my tokens, I decided to speak to the manager, someone who has been there for a long time and has always been kind and professional. I explained the situation and expressed my discomfort with the waitress’s attitude. The manager was understanding and explained that I hadn’t actually lost tokens but that the prices on the newer pinball machines had changed since my last visit—something I wasn’t aware of.

The manager’s handling of the situation was professional, respectful, and kind—completely opposite to the waitress’s behavior. Despite having been a regular at Button Mash since 2016, I’ve never experienced anything like this before. I sincerely hope they pay closer attention to their staff in the future and maintain the positive and playful atmosphere that has always made this place so special.
